A vector quantity has both magnitude and direction.
Example: velocity and momentum

A scalar quantity has magnitude only.
Example: mass and speed

If there is an unbalanced force, the object will accelerate in the direction of the larger force. → This is the resultant force . To calculate it : 1. Look at which side has the larger force. 2. Subtract them. → The arrow should be pointing towards the larger side. 3.
